
Registration
A non-refundable fee of $30 per student ($20 for any additional student in a family) is required yearly at the time of registration.
Payment of Fees
Tuition is paid by automatic bank account debit or automatic credit card payment. Tuition will be debited from your bank account on the 1st day of each month or charged to your credit card the 1st day of each month. The month of September is non-refundable. Credit card, bank debit or check payments are not accepted for in-person payment on a monthly basis. Payment must be made by pre-authorized automatic monthly payment. All charges will appear on your bank statement or credit card statement.
You will be charged same monthly fee for your lessons throughout whole calender year. A late-payment charge of $25 will be assessed if for some reason payment did not go through by the 1st of the month. If the payment is not made by the end of the month, lessons will have to be postponed until the payment is made in full. If the payment has not been made within 60 days, the account will automatically be transferred to Collection. For families where more then one student is taking lessons, or where a student takes lessons more then once a week, we have $30 discount on full monthly payment.
Lessons Format
Students have individual music, fine art or foreign language lessons of 30, 45, or 60 minutes in length in our studios or their home, once or twice a week, depending on age and desired pace of progress, or 50 minutes lessons in their home (an adult required to be at home at the time of the class). Group fine art, foreign language and Music Theatre lessons are 90 minutes long. Individual fine art lessons and group guitar lessons are 60 minutes in length. Parents will work with the school to decide which type of lessons is most appropriate for student. List of all classes and fees.
We teach year around.School year starts September 1. However, you may start lessons at any time during the year. In summer we offer regular lessons and Summer Camp.
Tuition
- 30-minute lesson: $28.00
- 45-minute lesson: $40.00
- 60-minute lesson: $50.00
- 90-minute group art lesson: $40.00
Withdrawal and Refunds
There is a one-month minimum for all lessons. One-month notice from the first of the month is required to discontinue any classes. Withdrawal must be done in person and in writing (except for students outside South Bay area) at the school office and not with the teacher.
To withdraw from classes a parent or adult student must:
- Inform school administration in person, and
- Complete and sign a withdrawal form provided by the school office.
All automatic bank debiting or credit card charges will stop after the one-month notice period ( from the 1st of the month). European School of Music & Art reserves the right to terminate lessons to any students without notice. Only in such a case a refund for unused lessons will be given.
Unexpected Interruption of Classes
If the school must cancel classes due to extreme weather or events beyond our control such as power outages, the missed lessons will be made up. No refunds for lessons missed due to these reasons will be given.
Substitutions
The school reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher if the regularly scheduled teacher is ill or otherwise unable to teach classes. If a teacher is absent and the school cannot arrange a substitute, any missed classes will be made up.
Missed Private Music Lessons and Make-up Lessons: Absolutely no make-up lessons will be given for missed lessons unless absence is due to serious illness and 24-hour notice has been given to the school office. No refunds are given for missed lessons. (School activities such as ski trips or programs, band trips, sports games, etc. do not qualify for make-up lessons.)
Make-ups are scheduled every Sunday at 1:30 p.m. except Holidays & Recital Sundays, and should be made up within two months. Make-up lessons are done in a group setting, at the studios of the school, and are 15 minutes longer then students. usual class. You may walk in any Sunday within the allotted two months to complete your make-up; after which lesson will be forfeited.
Home lesson make-ups are to be completed within one-month period.
Parent's Responsibility to be Aware of Dates and Events: It is the responsibility of the parent or adult student to be aware of all school activities such as recitals, extra classes, and dates the school is open or closed. The school will post all such notices on the Bulletin board as well as sending notices home with the students. It is the parent.s responsibility to regularly check these boards to ensure they are informed. It is the responsibility of the parents or adult students to inform the school of any address/telephone change.
Care of Students: The school is not responsible for providing before or after class care for students. Students are not to be left at the school for excessive time before or after class.
Punctuality: It is very important to come to lessons on time. A tardy student has only the time remaining in the lesson period.
Injuries: Parents, legal guardians of minor students and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on school property resulting from any activity conducted by the students before, during or after class time.
Photo Release: The school is hereby granted permission to take photographs of the students to use in brochures, web sites, posters, advertisements and other promotional materials the school creates. Permission is also hereby granted for the school to copyright such photographs in its name.
